I am currently involved with supporting Cindy's Sheehan's call for a Women's March on the Pentagon to take place in October on the fifty-first anniversary of the 1967 march, which many of us attended. (She is calling for parallel marches and other activities around the country to coincide with the march on the Pentagon.) Unfortunately, the past half century has seen no real diminution in unjustifiable American military activity overseas, so I agree with Ms. Sheehan that the peace community needs to re-boot itself and greatly expand its influence. And I think that having women take the lead this time is a fine idea, one that is probably long overdue.
