MARSHA TANNEN DOLSAK Obituary

DOLSAK, MARSHA TANNEN
Marsha Tannen Dolsak, 72, died suddenly and unexpectedly on February 21, 2019. She was born in 1946 in Washington, DC to Phylis and Harold Tannen and the family moved to Miami, Florida a year later. Marsha graduated from Southwest Miami High School in 1964 and Oberlin College in 1968. She married Chuck Dolsak that same year and they remained happily married for the rest of her life, 50 1/2 years. Marsha spent a summer working in Honduras through the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee and then completed training for the Peace Corps but she could not resist Chuck's marriage proposal and she turned her attention to starting their life together.
Marsha and Chuck moved from Oberlin, Ohio to Miami, Florida in 1970. They moved with their two children from Miami to Gainesville in 1980. Marsha worked for The Haile Plantation Corporation, Haile Realty, and Coldwell Banker/MM Parish and retired in 2017. She volunteered with the Guardian Ad Litem program. She was a great friend, with a quick wit and a ready smile for all who knew her and a cherished and devoted wife, mother, sister, cousin and grandmother. She was an excellent athlete -- an avid and accomplished tennis player, golfer and she was unparalleled on the ping-pong table.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Dolsak; daughter, Kristen Dolsak; son, Adam Dolsak; brother, Steve Tannen (Jane Johnson); sisters, Tina Tannen (Ward Shelley); and Lisa Brunn (Mickey Brunn); grandchildren, Bailey, Evan and Kai Dolsak and Ramona Maraglia; and many cousins, nieces and nephews in Tampa, Miami, Seattle, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Maryland, California, and Ohio.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 7, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Heartwood Soundstage, 619 South Main Street, Gainesville, FL 32601. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to mdolsak@cox.net

It sounds like Marsha kept her beautiful smile and great sense of humor all her life. My deepest sympathies to Chuck and her family.

Marsha and I had hoped to meet and visit when she and Chuck came for his 50th at Oberlin this coming May.  We were freshman roommates--an unforgettable time together.  She was great fun to be with!
