Why do we look at the lists of classmates who have died? Who knows what prompts it. But this evening I came across the post about Mary Ann - and I remember so clearly the letter she wrote me in August of 1964 - before we became roommates in Dascomb. She had a probem with her back, but she never talked about it, or asked for any sort of help and was a sweet and calm presence in a complicated world. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

I really enjoy reading about the people I never knew or didn't know well. Mary Ann was one of these people. Thank you, Liz, for providing this window into Mary Ann.

I agree - some people I just have a vague memory of so it's wonderful to hear stories. Thanks Liz!

Yes, thank you Liz. I agree. And I appreciate your comments, Edward and Judith. T
hough our bodies are now 75 plus or minus, I know most of us feel - emotionally/mentally - way younger. It is an unexpected and difficult sensation to be experiencing our own physical aging and see our classmates die. Life remains fascinating!

I can only echo what the rest of you have written.

I too agree with all of you who have posted. I want to let you know also that I have re-established contact with a couple of our classmates who had `disappeared'. They are Susan Jones, also a physics major, and Mari-Ann (Dotsenko) Kelam. She was a German major and has returned to her family roots in Estonia.

Also, to answer Liz' original question, sometimes I look to see if I'm on the list.

What a wonderful thread to wake up to this morning. and Ha ha - yes to see if I am on the list. and also yes to reconnecting with people we lost or at least lost between reunions. I am loving seeing all the good Bob Baker is doing in his life (Facebook does provide a useful function - how do we use it and stop its abuses).
