Hi All, I simply wanted to announce the official release of a major study of basic income undertaken for the British Columbia government: https://bcbasicincomepanel.ca

I spent most of the three years since my retirement serving on this panel, and I expect that our report with deep analysis and sweeping recommendations will be widely read far beyond my province, which has a social democratic governing party that I anticipate will implement many of our recommendations over time. Our framework is one of moving further toward a just society, with emphasis on the requisites for human dignity and social inclusion for all. This implies a more targeted approach and a balanced provision of extended "basic services" along with improved cash supports. Fun reading--all 530 pages!

Also among recommended reading is a book that I co-edited with my wife, who is the widow of the inventor of the world's first laser: "The Laser Inventor: Memoirs of Theodore H. Maiman," a great read if you are tiring of streamed movies! B
